What Is The Regional Internship Center?
The Regional Internship Center of Southwestern Pennsylvania (RIC), strives to increase the number of organizations in southwestern Pennsylvania offering internships by actively working with employers to develop programs and connect them with potential interns.
Through various programs that educate, engage and connect employers and internship seekers in southwestern Pennsylvania, the RIC provides both groups a solid advantage in today’s competitive marketplace.
The RIC serves employers in the counties of Allegheny, Armstrong, Beaver, Butler, Clarion, Crawford, Fayette, Greene, Indiana, Lawrence, Mercer, Washington, and Westmoreland, as well as the Panhandle of West Virginia. The RIC partners with over sixty educational institutions in the region, and operates as a central point where students can connect to internship opportunities.
Internships are an opportunity to create a competitive advantage for the region by leveraging our upcoming workforce and the knowledge they bring to employers. By connecting internship seekers with area employers and providing them with work experience, they will be more inclined to stay in the region after graduation.
Eight years ago, the RIC was founded by the Coro Center for Civic Leadership, Pittsburgh (Coro Pittsburgh), with the goal of providing career development and employment resources, as well as access to a trusted network for supporting engagement initiatives.
